Caring for your cutting board

The boards have not been moisturized prior to shipping. Please clean prior to use and oil the board with 100% vegetable oil or olive oil.

Hand wash with a sponge and soapy water after each use and dry with a soft cloth or paper towel.  Let the board dry standing on edge so both sides can dry evenly.

Don’t soak the cutting board. You can submerge it in water, but only for a quick dunk. Also, do not wash it in the dishwasher, both soaking and the high temps and detergents in the dishwasher will cause the board to warp.

Sanitize your cutting board after prepping raw meat. Use either straight-up white vinegar or a solution of 1 1/2 teaspoons bleach in 4 cups of water.

To freshen up a smelly board (think residual onion vapors), rub a halved lemon over the surface; let it sit for a minute or two, and then wipe off the board.

We recommend oiling your cutting board occasionally with vegetable or olive oil.  Apply a thin even layer over the entire board and let it soak in for a few hours.  When finished, simply wash and dry it.
