The leather Aztec Special is rendition of the Macuahuitl, an ancient wooden war club. The name is derived from the Nahuatl language and means "hand-wood". The traditional club was embedded with blades traditionally made from obsidian. Ryan makes a true wooden Macuahuitl and felt a leather sap would be a cool twist on a classic. These are made from premium cowhide with a lead and spring steel core. The core is then positioned inside a large 1/8 inch thick G10 'blade' (yeah, it's all one piece!) and then the leather ends are sewn through the G10 and together. The Aztec Special is 13.25" long and weighs in at 18.5 ounces. They are finished in a rich red/orange dye with detailed laser work on both sides.
