Boarding Axe - Acid Etched

If you have dreamt about boarding tall ships, we have one of your tools covered!  Your pirate Larp kit can be completed with our modern rendition of the Boarding Axe.  

The Boarding Axe is 15" OAL, with a formidable 7.5" long head.  The head has a 2.875" cutting edge, the under side of the beard has an aggressive row of  gripping teeth.  The spike is distal tapered for easy insertion and removal, and features a sharpened edge.  They are constructed from .250" 80CRV2 carbon tool steel, and weigh in at a stout 27 ounces.  They are finished in a unique acid etched finish that insure no two look the same. The handle end is finished with a large hole to allow a rope to be attached.  The handles are G10 composite, and feature a checkered pattern that works great with or without gloves.  They are secured with Grade-5 Titanium fasteners with a bronze anodized finish.  This is a full blown working tomahawk, that ties in some of the past that we had not touched yet. 

So lets Larp!  The cutting edge can be used to chop through thick ropes when enemy ships attempt to lock vessels together.  You’ll find tangled netting, canvas and other barriers created during the battle, including clearing fallen masts that can impede your progress.  The spike can be used to open locked cabin doors, hatches, and bulkheads to reach or flush out defending crews.  The rear spike and the aggressive teeth under the beard can be plunged or hooked into wood and rigging to help boarders climb up the high sides of an enemy ship.  While swords and cutlasses may dominate the deck, the compact boarding axe acts as a brutal weapon in tight spaces.
